DISHWASHER PROBLEMS

CONSTANT/LOUD NOISES

Call us when the dishwasher begins making loud noises. The noises are because the motor bushing is damaged, the pump housing is broken, or a washer arm bearing is damaged.  We will need to fix these problems or the next thing will be that your washer will be extremely quiet and because it is not working at all. Call us for fast and efficient repairs on the same day.

LEAKING WATER

As soon as you are finished mopping up the water from the leaking dishwasher, call us to get same-day repairs. We may have to replace a door latch, which is the most frequent reason for dishwashers leaking or we may need to fix a water inlet valve which has failed. We always carry the parts and the tools to deal with leaking dishwashers for Whirlpool, GE, Kenmore, and other major brands.

WON’T TURN ON

When the dishwasher does not start, make sure it is plugged in and check that the circuit breaker is not turned off. When these are OK but it still will not start, you usually have a malfunctioning electronic control, burned out thermal fuse, broken door latch, or a damaged motor relay,. We will repair any of these problems on the spot and on the same day you call.

WON’T DRAIN/FILL

The dishwasher must fill with water to wash and then rinse the dishes. And then it needs to drain the water so that the dishes can dry. When the dishwasher does not fill properly, it has a damaged float switch, broken door switch, or a water inlet valve that is broken. The dishwasher does not drain if the drain hose is damaged or when the drain pump motor is broken.

WON’T CLEAN DISHES

When the dishes are still dirty after an otherwise normal cycle, you may have a broken housing gasket, filter, water tube or spray arm. Armonk Appliance Repair carries the manufacturer parts to repair each of these frequent dishwasher problems in no time at all.

WON’T DRY DISHES

When the dishwasher does not dry dishes all the way, it typically has a damaged rinse aid dispenser, thermostat, or heating element. Don’t start drying dishes by hand. Call us to fix this problem right away.

WON’T DISPENSE DETERGENT

Soap or detergent is needed to wash dishes instead of just rinsing them. Dishes don’t get clean when the wax motor is not working correctly, a timer is malfunctioning, or the bi-metal release is broken.
